Martyn McClelland

Our first outstanding former pupil hasn't been away from school for long, but is already making a significant contribution to the lives of many individuals through the scouting movement.

Whilst a scout may have gone all the way to the moon, Martyn McLelland organised and oversaw an intrepid bunch of scouts from Biggar all the way to London's Tolmers' Scout Centre, overcoming along the way getting on the wrong train and doubtless other problems. When the parents of the scouts handed over their children to him at Waverly Station it was with total confidence that he would care for and guide them throughout the week.     He is an excellent role model to his scouts as he shows commitment and encourages the boys to have fun, be adventurous but also respect and care for others.

Away from Scouting, Martyn has recently graduated as a psychiatric nurse and works at the State Hospital.
